Semi-Permanent Make Up Removal

With the Increase in Semi-Permanent Make-Up (cosmetic tattoos), the desire to remove unwanted semi-permanent makeup has increased. Semi Permanent Makeup Removal and Laser hair removal are very similar, they both involve the use of a laser to break down the colour pigments within the tattoo – the laser emits short pulses of energy which are absorbed by the ink and causes the ink to breakdown. This is then removed naturally by the body, and the removal continues after each session. Our Semi-Permanent Makeup Removal treatment is carried out by our highly trained, experienced professionals using the latest and safest laser technology.

Tattoo Removal

Unwanted tattoos can be safely removed gradually with a course of laser treatments. We use the latest and most advanced medical-grade laser technology to remove tattoo ink. These high-tech lasers use concentrated light beams which pass through the skin and break up the tattoo ink into tiny particles, which the body is then able to dispose of via the immune system.

Important Information about the Process

-Before treatment a full consultation and patch test will need to be carried out.

-On treatment day you will be shown to our laser treatment room and be made comfortable. The area to be treated will be cooled for about 5 minutes with an icepack. The area will then be sanitised, and for larger tattoos the treatment area marked. You will be given protective goggles and treatment will begin.

-The practitioner will work over the tattoo in a methodical fashion adjusting the power as necessary. An audible snapping will be heard. There should be an immediate whitening “frosting” of the tattoo ink, which typically fades over 15-30 minutes.

-Heat can build and pain levels can vary between individuals. Following the treatment, the area will be cooled again, aloe vera applied and the tattoo dressed. Any discomfort should disappear within 24 hours. Over the following weeks and months, the ink will break down and the body will eliminate it via the lymphatic system.

It is impossible to give an exact amount of treatments that any one tattoo will need to disappear or to fade. The success of tattoo removal and the number of treatments required varies greatly depending on the age of the tattoo, the coloured pigments used, its location, and its layering. The complete removal of a tattoo is not always possible. Larger tattoos may need to be broken down into smaller treatment sections so as not to over load the lymphatic system and make removal more efficient.
