IPL-Acne Treatment
Before treatment a full consultation and patch test will need to be carried out.
The skin will be cleansed and a thin layer of ultrasound gel applied. You will be asked to put on protective goggles. The IPL handset will be moved across the face in a ‘stamping’ movement. A small amount of heat may be felt but the majority of our clients find it relaxing.

The skin absorbs the pulsed light, which triggers a chemical release. This selectively destroys bacteria responsible for acne inflammation or breakouts. The size of the sebaceous glands is also reduced, limiting the quantity of sebum they are able to produce.
Acne therapy follow-up treatments should be spaced 2-3 weeks apart. This is to allow time for the treated lesions to subside so that further treatment can target what remains.
