Acne & Breakouts

Oily Skin/Acne- Acne is a common skin condition which affects 64% of adults in their 20’s and 43% of adults in their 30s. despite being more severe in young adult males acne is more common in young adult females.  

Skin prone to acne and breakouts is quite often oily, the overactive sebaceous glands produce excess oil and dead skin cells clog the pore. These pores then become inflamed and often infected. Acne is commonly found on the face with clusters found on the cheeks, chin and forehead although acne can affect the chest and back. If left untreated acne can cause scarring.

It is important to note that treatments cannot be done on clients that are on retinoids, topical retinoids should be stopped 2 weeks prior to treatment and oral retinoids 6 months prior to treatment.
